Where to Celebrate Mardi Gras in NYC

Celebrate Fat Tuesday in style this year.

Mardi Gras, the day before the Christian season of Lent begins, falls on Tuesday, Feb. 28, and is a celebration of overindulgence and vice.

Whether with traditional Zydeco music or the funk of George Clinton himself, these local spots will help you celebrate Mardi Gras:

Mardi Gras Ball

Where: Treadwell Park, 1125 First Ave., Upper East Side
When: 6 to 10 p.m.

Celebrate this Upper East Side beer hall’s first Mardi Gras Ball hosted by drag queen Ariel Italic and featuring The Triad Brass Band. There will be a menu of Fat Tuesday favorites like Jambalaya and beignets as well as a Sazerac station.
